Vaasa Car Hire

On your next trip to Vaasa don’t forget to employ our Vaasa car hire services as your main means of transportation. When you visit there you should visit the place with the full knowledge that the original town of Vaasa actually burned to the ground back in 1852, the current Vaasa was rebuilt and relocated closer to the sea which allowed it to become an important sea-faring city.

The city is served by the Vaasa Airport which sees regular flights to and from Helsinki but no international flights. You can also reach the city by car, bus, boat or train but regardless of the method of transportation that you use to get there, once in the city don’t forget to consider our Vaasa car rental services.

There are quite a few attractions and sights that Vaasa has to offer, despite its rather short history, for instance the market place and the Statue of Freedom are located at the center of town and you can’t really miss them and shouldn’t.

Visiting the ruins of the old Vaasa is another sort of attraction. The old town was situated about six kilometers southeast of the current day Vaasa’s location and being mostly made out of wood it ended up being almost entirely burnt to the ground. An 18th century court building did survive the blaze but it was transformed into the Church of Korsholm when the new Vaasa was built. Actually the ruins of the 14 century Korsholm castle can still be found if you journey a bit west of the Church.

The waterfront in Vaasa is a great place to go out for a walk. In the park areas that you’ll find alongside the waterfront you will find many interesting sight such as the Court of Appeals which is a neo-Gothic building and the 19th century Vaasa prison which is actually still in use but the interior has been modernized.

These are of course only a few of the things that Vaasa has to offer so don’t forget to employ our Vaasa car hire services in order to better experience it and its surroundings.
