Bodrum Car Hire

Car Hire
On your next trip to Bodrum make sure to consider our Bodrum car hire as your main means of transportation. This Turkish town situated on the southern Aegean coast is a very popular tourist resort with visitors from all over the world.

The city is served by the Bodrum Airport which is located at about thirty-five kilometers from Bodrum but it is connected to the city via airplane shuttles, however a better choice would be to employ our Bodrum car rental services and have a car of your choice ready and waiting for you at the airport as soon as you land.

The city of Bodrum has been around for over two thousand years, although it wasn't called that from the beginning. Initially it was the ancient city of Halikarnassus, the location of the famous Mausoleum of Halikarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Nowadays Bodrum offers an interesting contrast between the ancient history of the city and its modern day function as a market town for the region as well as a playground for wealthy Turks and foreign visitors.

Although the Mausoleum was destroyed in a series of earthquakes during the Middle Ages, the city is not devoid of landmarks, possibly the most important being the Bodrum Castle also known as the Castle of St Peter.

The castle was built at the beginning of the 15th century by the Knights Hospitaller and it is said to contain stones from the Mausoleum in its walls. The castle is one of the best preserved medieval monuments and the views it offers of the surrounding region are spectacular. Nowadays it is used as a museum, focused on underwater archaeology.

Another very well preserved ancient monument is the Bodrum Amphitheatre. Older than the Castle it is accredited to having been built during the reign of King Mausolus however it wasn't completed until the Roman conquest of the region; great place to visit.

These are of course only a few of the many sights and attractions that Bodrum has to offer its visitors so make sure to employ our Bodrum car hire services in order to better experience this ancient city and its surroundings.
