Barcelona – A unique mix of Mediterranean influences

The Spanish city of Barcelona combines a lot of various features which make individual Mediterranean cities charming, but by bringing all of them together it makes Barcelona uniquely charming as well as relaxed, cosmopolitan and cool.
Featuring a veritable patchwork of architectural styles, ranging from Gothic facades to Modernist buildings, one can spend entire days simply strolling around its marvelous streets admiring the architecture, however that’s hardly the main attraction point for most visitors to this city.
One has to keep in mind that this is a city on the coast of the Mediterranean so it features no less than seven beaches, all of which are beautiful and cater to all types of tourists.
Weather-wise, Barcelona is a very interesting place, the winter season having been known to produce some very clear skies and equally improbable warm days, while during the summer, while it is rather humid it is much less hot than most other inland Spanish cities, thanks to the sea being close-by. Spring and autumn periods are probably the most temperate and stable of the seasons in Barcelona but they are prone to sudden showers, especially in autumn so keep that in mind.
As far as what you can do while in Barcelona, the better question would be what can’t you do while in Barcelona, whether you just enjoy walking the city by foot and seeing the wonderful architecture – one good suggestion would be taking a walk down the tree-line La Rambla and then venture into the maze-style alleyways of the Barri Gotic, or you’re more interested in shopping and nightlife entertainment opportunities, the city has it for you.
As far as the entertainment options go, Barcelona is a real partying city, especially after midnight, whether you’re into jazz, techno or tango, there are a plethora of clubs and tapas bars ready to cater to your preferences.
If shopping is your thing then rest assured that Barcelona has a wide range of opportunities for you, from the la Boqueira Market where you can shop for the freshest Iberian ham, olives and goat cheese to the Passeig de Gracia or El Corte Ingles.
Those who are fans of Barca FC can visit the Camp Nou stadium and museum while those who are interested in more culturally imbued attractions can visit the Museu Picasso or the Palau de la Musica.
There are of course many more things that one can see and do while in Barcelona and with the help of some Barcelona car hire services once can enjoy many more of them than they would otherwise be capable of, without a car at their disposal.
