British ladies don’t really like men with sports cars
We normally look at the very serious side of the auto industry but on occasion we have talked about the lighter side of car news usually as result of some sort of poll conducted either by a website or usually a UK-based car magazine. Today we have a bit of bad news coming from a poll by UK website Motors related to men who own sports cars, it appears that women aren’t that much into you.
It appears that over half the women surveyed said they were not attracted to men with expensive sports car because they assume that they are arrogant, while at the same time considerably more women are attracted to men who drive ‘green cars’.
Fifty-three percent of women who took part in the poll think that male drivers of sports cars are arrogant, while 44 percent said they are self-centred, and 38 percent think they are an actual danger on the road; those are not good number any way you look at it.
Interestingly enough, both men and women perceived drivers of eco-friendly cars – like the Toyota Prius and Nissan Leaf – as conscientious, intelligent and safe. There is no mention in the poll of whether or not these drivers are perceived as smug and/or superior.
The poll also demonstrates that women don’t just prefer green cars to sports cars, because even Ford Mondeo drivers were found to be more appealing, while hatchback drivers were said to be considered modest.
The poll was taken by about two thousand UK adults, and these results are counter to what 48 percent of male respondents believe, that by driving an expensive car, women will find them more attractive.
It is interesting to note however, that 44 percent of male respondent also thought women who drive large 4×4 ‘school mum’ cars to be arrogant, while 29 percent thought them to be rude.
