Kia’s luxury sedan
It’s a well-known fact that the car manufacturing business is characterized by constant competition, competition for lowest price points, most feature, best technologies and the like, but there are certain areas in which only certain players are considered to be relevant.
For instance when one thinks of luxury sedans, one tends to think of car makers such as BMW or Mercedes, not Kia, but this article is about Kia trying their hand at the luxury sedan market.
There’s nothing wrong if you’re trying to stop yourself from laughing right now, considering the fact that Kia has a reputation for making what one might call disposable cars for the past decade, but it would appear that they’re quite serious about this endeavor.
What was known as the K9 a few months ago, Kia’s fresh new sedan has been now officially named as the Quoris in every market, except for the one in Korea. The name itself is baffling to say the least, because they claimed it to be a combination of the words “core” and “quality”, but just a passing glance at the name will pretty much invalidate that particular idea.
But little making sense name aside, what is known about the Quoris is that it will come with a wide range of powerful engines, which includes a 333-horsepower 3.9-liter V-6, then a 385-hp 4.6-liter V-8 and the top range 5.0-liter V-8 that generates a whopping 429-hp.
The Quoris will debut later in 2012, however information about its pricing is still unknown, and we’ll post an update when we have more information to share.
