Limited edition Japan-only Subaru WRX STI tS Type RA revealed

Subaru has released a Japan-only model with the Subaru WRX STI tS Type RA, and despite the weird name it’s quite an awesome car.
The Subaru WRX STI tS Type RA will be limited to a maximum run of three hundred units, being based on the four-door WRSXSTI spec C. This particular model focuses the tuning of the car’s suspension set-up so as to enhance its ‘strength and nimbleness’.
The vehicle’s gearbox will feature a quick steering gear ratio of 11:1, and Brembo will supply the six-pot brake calipers.
Subaru engineers have targeted the vehicle’s ‘running, turning and stopping’ in order to ensure that the Type RA is balanced as possible.
Now if all of these modifications do not sound like enough of an incentive, then Subaru Japan also offers customers a special ‘NBR Challenge Pack’ – a Nurburgring-inspired modification – this adds a carbonfibre rear spoiler and special 18-inch forged aluminium wheels which are wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tyres in the mix. Subaru also call the model the Subaru WRX STI ts Type RA NBR Challenge Pack, which means that you might possibly be able to lap de race track faster than you could with the simple model name.
The Type RA will be offered in three colors – Tangerine Orange Pearl, Satin White Pearl or Blue Mica – which will contrast black door mirror covers and rest stitching as well as STI badges for the interior.
As we mentioned earlier, this model will be limited to a 300-unit run and will be only available in Japan, however for the rest of the world the recently announced 20th anniversary special edition of the WRX is something to look forward to. The special model will be available from September in its limited run, and will be the swansong for the third-generation WRX.
