Even though it wasn’t built up to the initial plans it is still the finest example of Soviet era architecture in terms of squares. The Square features the early buildings of the Houses of Government, the Ministry of Communications and strangely enough the Marriott Hotel, these are all very good example of Neo-Classical architecture with some hints of Armenian influences here and there. The buildings that were built later are Modernist imitations of previous ones.
