The port city of Nice is a very popular tourist destination for both young and old alike and you can see it at its best with our Nice car hire services. It is a very old settlement, the area around it being inhabited since Roman times, as such the city has a lot of things o offer in regards to tourist attractions; being situated on the French Riviera isn’t a bad thing either.
If you plan to fly into Nice then you’ll be landing at Nice Airport, one of the busiest airports in the country. It is located about six kilometers from the city and connected to it via buses, however instead of having to deal with bus schedules you could simply employ our Nice car rental services and have a car ready for you at the airport.
Once you reach Nice you’ll be glad to know that most of the main tourist attractions, barring the beaches, are located in the historical center of the city. The city is indeed large, but most of the attractions are within walking distance of each other. The traffic in Nice is notoriously perilous, so driving in the city should be done with a lot of attention and only if truly necessary.
Nice has a lot of very good museums which are really worth your attention, some of them rather famous. Most of these ones are located in Cimiez – the upper and older part of the city, which you can reach by car better than by public transportation. These museums include the Museum of Asian Art – where you can see a wonderful mix of Indian, Chinese and Southeast Asian art pieces – Musee Chagall – which includes stained glass windows done by the great artist himself, Musee Matisse – where you can see a wonderful collection of drawings, sculptures and paintings – and the Museum and Archaeological Site at Cimiez.
A great way of seeing Nice is on the Colline du Chateau which overlooks the Baie des Anges and the harbor. The ruins of this castles are located 90 meters above Nice and as such the effort is really worth it as the view is something truly special.
