Once there you can start your visit with the Old Town which features buildings which date back from the 13th to the 19th century. One of the most important attractions in the city is Vilnius Cathedral as well as its Square. The first church was built here in 1251 but then about a century later a cathedral in the Gothic style was built, and now it’s a cathedral built in a classical style. As expected from such an old building it features a series of catacombs as well which can be visited.
Another church that you should visit is St. Peter’s and Paul’s Church, while it may not strike you from the outside the inside is shockingly beautiful.
Christianity is very important in Lithuania and this is evidenced by the many places of worship that its capital features but there is one other monument which is a reminder of how important the faith is to Lithuanians and that is the Three Crosses Hill. This is a monument dedicated to seven Franciscan monks who were tortured by pagans before the country converted to Christianity.
