During your next trip to New Zealand’s capital make sure to consider our Wellington car hire services. As opposed to most other countries in the world, New Zealand’s capital isn’t also its largest city, it isn’t even its second largest it is in fact its third largest. The city is surrounded by mountains and located on the foreshore of Wellington harbor, it is also the home of many of the country’s national arts and other cultural attractions.
Flying into the city will have you landing at Wellington Airport which is situated only five kilometers from the city center. It is connected to the city via a regular airport bus, shuttle van services and taxis but your simplest choice by far would be to employ the services of our Wellington car rental services and have a car ready for you at the airport as soon as you land.
Once in the city there are many attractions for you to see such as the Te Papa, which is the national museum a great place to take the children or on the other hand the City Gallery located in the Civic Square runs avant-garde exhibits all the time and has an excellent cafe attached to it.
The Wellington Cable Car is one of the city’s icons, even though it provides an actual useful service you can just take it for the experience.
The city is surrounded by hills which offer a great number of lookout points some of the best ones are Mount Victoria, Mount Kaukau and Wrights Hill.
Mount Victoria is 196 meters high and arguably the best lookout spot in the city because it offers a full 360-degree view of the city.
Mount Kaukau is higher than Victoria at 445 meters but it isn’t as close to the city as the previous one.
The Old Government Buildings are an interesting sight to see, being the largest wooden buildings in the southern hemisphere and the second largest in the world.
There are of course many other attractions and things to do while in New Zealand’s capital and with the help of our Wellington car hire services you can see as many of them as possible.
