Usually when a model sees some enhancements in the standard equipment one doesn’t expect it to go down in price, however this seems to be true for the 2013 Mitsubishi Triton that will see price reduction of up to $3250.

The entry-level version of the Mitsubishi Triton GL single cab chassis 4×2 will still be the only variant to feature the 94kW/194Nm 2.4-litre petrol engine. However, even the base model will benefit from new front seats with updated cloth upholstery alongside silver accents on the instrument cluster.

The Triton GLX single cab 4×2 and 4×4 models will also get the same cabin upgrades as the GL, while the versions fitted with the four-speed automatic transmission will get a new floor console with a storage box.

The new manual seats in single and dual cab variants will also feature extended travel and greater front legroom compared with the older ones.

The Dual cab 4×2 has been upgraded from the standard 100kW/314Nm 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine to the ‘Hi Power’ version, which can produce 131kW and 400Nm (350Nm with the auto). The model will also feature high-grade seats, body-colored exterior panels and side steps.

Those same upgrades will apply to the Triton GLX dual cab 4×4, which will also come with the option of 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Triton GL-R on the other hand already comes with the 16-inch alloys, a sports bar, rear step, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob.

Then there’s the top of the range Triton GLX-R which has auto-folding side mirrors, 17-inch alloys, a nudge bar, fog lamps and side steps as standard.

There’s also an optional Luxury pack for the GLX-R variants which includes things like a differential lock, power driver’s seat and eight-speaker audio system, as well as leather upholstery.

It should be noted that all Mitsubishi Triton dual cab models will now feature side and curtain airbags, as well as the standard front airbags for a total of six airbags.
