In anticipation of the 85th Edition Geneva Motor Show

In anticipation of the 85th Edition Geneva Motor Show, due to be held between the 5th and the 15th of March 2015, we would like to take a moment today to talk about the history and prominence of this event.

If you love cars, you are bound to begin spring in Switzerland, in Geneva at the Palexpo convention center, just next to the Airport of Geneva. Car manufacturers, experts and the press will be meeting here, as they have since the first edition held in 1905, when the first steam-powered cars, which were a rage back then, were exhibited.

Today, the auto event marks a key moment on the automotive calendar. The Salon has several sections: Motor cars with 3 and 4 wheels, Electric and alternative powered cars, Special bodywork, design and engineering, Tuners, Car parts and accessories, OEM, Workshop repair and maintenance, Miscellaneous products, Animations and attractions.

The Geneva International Motor Show this year comes with a new logo and with an English text. Last year, about 670.000 people showed up and over 11.000 members of the press were present. The same effervescence is expected this year, and the press have been invited to come in advance, starting with March 3rd and on March 4th 2015.

The price of a full ticket is 16 CHF, while children between 6 and 16, as well as seniors pay 9 CHF for entry. Opening hours are: Monday – Friday: 10 – 20 h, weekend: 9 – 19 h.

Among the revelations of this year’s Geneva Motor Show, we are anxious to see the mysterious Suzuki concept cars, the iK-2 and i-M4.

As we wait for the 85th Edition Geneva Motor Show to come sooner, it might be useful to plan your trip to Switzerland in advance and also book your car rental in Geneva online plenty of time before to get a discount.
